Grandview Police Reserve Officers are a vital asset to the citizens of Grandview. Reserve officers augment the regular police force during such times as vacations, community events, and emphasis patrols. Each officer is required to put in sixteen hours of uniform duty a month. On average, each reserve officers donates over three hundred hours a year to the city.
Reserve officer have the same arrest powers as full time commissioned police officers.
Reserves must complete a 256 hour Reserve Police Academy. These classes are conducted on evening and weekends. After completion of the academy, each reserve officer must complete an extended probation period under the supervision of a certified Field Training Officer.
